Douglas K. Mann, who has 19 years of defense experience, trying a number of intricate and highly-complicated cases, has gained an impressive reputation for his skills both in and out of the courtroom.

Representing a wide variety of clients, Doug's cases span the gamut from the defense of doctors in civil malpractice cases to those who go before the Medical Board of California facing disciplinary action and claims against doctors accused of violating hospital staff privileges.

What distinguishes Doug from his peers is that he has handled more than a dozen cases in the state Courts of Appeal, prevailing on behalf of his clients in every instance.

Counted among Doug's many victories are disputes involving general liability, catastrophic injury, elder abuse with regard to long-term care and products liability. His clients vary from insurance carriers to healthcare entities and long-term care facilities.

With tremendous respect for those in the medical profession, along with individuals and companies, Doug has represented some of the most prestigious institutions in the healthcare industry. A handful include the Southern California Physicians Insurance Exchange (SCPIE), Norcal, TIG Insurance, Optima and General Star. He also has assisted San Antonio Community Hospital as well as other hospitals, clinics and health care facilities with their legal matters.

Admitted to the State Bar of California in 1992, and later to the United States District Court, Central District Court of California, Doug attended California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, where he earned an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree in 1988. Prior to attending law school at Rutgers in New Jersey, where he earned a Juris Doctor in 1991, Doug worked as an engineer. A member of the Southern California Defense Counsel, the Southern California Association of Hospital Risk Managers, the Defense Research Institute and various bar associations in both Riverside and San Bernardino counties, Doug has lectured repeatedly to various groups and organizations on topics related to healthcare law issues, most specifically HIPPA.
